Return & Refund Policy
Our goal is to make purchasing product as easy as possible so you can spend more time doing what we love, being on the water! We understand from time to time you may purchase items that need to be exchanged or refunded. Our return policy is intended to assist you with getting the right product for your boating experience.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
If your purchase does not meet your needs or expectations, package your unused item in its original packaging with proof of purchase and mail it back to us with the supplied prepaid shipping label once your exchange or refund has been approved.
There are certain items we sell that are unable to be returned due to their specialized use or characteristics; refer to the list below for items that cannot be returned:
- Any installed product
- Items past their expiration date such as flares, charts, publications
- All gas, electric and trolling motors
- Items that are registered such as boats, EPIRB, PLBs, SPOT, Class B AIS, and life rafts
- All special orders
- Any cut or customized items such as boat covers, cable, rope, hose, chain or rigging
- Open computer software and electronic charts
- We cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
To start a return, you can contact us at Sales@TheCaptainsHangout.com If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
